My name is Ayako Koide. I am a writer, poet, translator and editor with a strong interest in language-image relations and the fantastic, mysterious nature of reality. I write in both Japanese and English. Currently, I am based in Tokyo.
As a translator, I have contributed to a number of Japanese post-war photography books, including the publications of Shoko Hashimoto’s photographs of goze, travelling women musicians with visual disability who were active until the end of the 20th century.
