Ayako Koide is a Tokyo-based editor, writer, poet and translator. As a translator, she has contributed to a number of Japanese post-war photography books, including the publications of Shoko Hashimoto’s photographs of goze, travelling women musicians with visual disability who were active until the end of the 20th century.
